For this feature, I am highlighting Inlaid Die Cut.There are many ways of doing inlaid die cutting.
It mainly involves die cutting and putting the dies back to the original spot.
With the variation of coloring medium and use of paper, it makes a sophisticated impact.

thanks for simply being you

In order to keep the look interesting, you can consider do the following:

1. choice of color card stock: for this particular design, I used colored card stock against the die to show some contrast. You can use pattern paper, too!
2. plan ahead: decide where you want to put the die and make that die cut. for example, I purposely used it on the right hand side.
3. show off the die cut edges: since the particular die has edges all around. Why not create a contrast with the coloring and the card stock? Be sure to save the tiny die cut pieces in between!

thanks

I had lots of fun coloring this Tiger Lily. Whenever I see orange Tiger Lilies and am always drawn to the rich colors and hues. To jazz it up, I added some gold watercolor from my Gansai Tambi (36 Colors).

thanks for simply being You-001

Of course, adding some splatter is always a good idea!

I've been meaning to try die cutting the front panel/layer and then stamping on the card base, but inlaying the die cut image looks fun too, especially with a small part of the image die cut overhanging. Love this new Tuesday feature, Virginia. I'm hoping that I'll be able to visit more often again. Life can get crazy busy sometimes.

Beautiful card, I have always loved the Tiger Lily. I really love the colors you used. I tried to leave a message on yesterdays post but there was no where to leave one, I just wanted to say Congrat's to the winner and I did notice the masking but you said we could only have one guess. Thanks Virginia, amazing post today.

Your card is lovely. I think it's the contrast of your orange lily and the lovely green paper. Doesn't matter, the colors are superb, the sentiment is lovely and the spatters are the perfect finishing touch!

Love your bright Tiger Lilies with the mint colored background. I love the look of the inlaid die cuts.
I have always loved that type of lilyfrom the first time I saw them as a child in Pennsylvania.

Brilliant idea to make the card panel from colored card stock. Love how your mind came up with that idea because I certainly would never have thought of it. The contrast against that wonderfully colored tiger lily is huge.
