DIY Watercolor Background on a Card (& Announcement)

Happy December, my friends!
Remember my stash of DIY watercolor paper?

DIY watercolor paper

I am back to share a card with you on using one of those pieces.

Well, among all that watercolor paper, I love the stripey one at the bottom the most. I thought long and hard on how to use it. I finally came up with this.

The result may seem simple, but I actually took a detour to get to this conclusion. You see, I water-colored the Bamboo Rose image like I would normally do (with green and pink/red). But the colors really didn't go with that gold stripes with a touch of coral pink and orange.

I finally settle on the gold-embossed image on vellum. It may seem obvious , but I just need to try it out and see for myself. That is the beauty of creative process, you know?
Good things do take time.

The gold metallic paint from the Kuretake set really makes the design shine. There is a slight golden sheen on the card stock that is hard to photograph. I urge you to try the gold and silver in your watercolor palette if you have any.

I have listed all the supplies that I used in this card as the process is pretty much self-explanatory.

Bye-bye, Virginia's View Challenge! 😞

Lastly, I have a little announcement over Virginia's View Challenge Blog (see here). I am proud that I have run the Challenge up to 25 times. Virginia's View Challenge was so well-received and loved by the participants and supporters. I shall miss the fun in running the challenge, however, I realized that I simply do not have the time to continue. I will focus my time right HERE in this blog and continue to fulfill my DT and duties. You are not getting ridding of me just yet.😁
