Loving Yellow!

The hot summery days make me love the color yellow even more! If you see the following, you can understand why!
It all started with my son David who absolutely loves lemons! David has a thing for lemons...he loves Lemon Squares and Lemon cookies. The latest? Lemon Meringue Pie! Now that David is free from school for the summer, he finally has some time to make the Lemon Meringue Pie that he has been dreaming about!

With some help from me (I take pride in making pie crusts from scratch), he did the lemon filling and meringue! It's funny that I caught David smelling the lemon juice after he carefully squeezed two lemons to make 1/2 cup of the juice. This was the happy result :)
A close-up of the pie (came straight from the oven for our photo shoot)!
Here is the real deal!
The BEST Lemon Meringue Pie (in the Lu house anyways)!
Having all the lemons in mind, I joined the fun with the Hero Arts Scramble challenge and came up with a card in 30 min! The yellow color I used in this card is....what else? Squeezed Lemonade from Tim Holtz Distress Ink! The challenge is to use masking technique or make an encouragement card. I love masking...so here is my take. You can click on the photo to find out more details of the card.
you brighten my day
I masked the flowers AND the borders! I love cards with less bulk and layers for easy mailing!
Now you may want to grab yourself a glass of lemonade after seeing this post?  I love the saying:
"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!!" Thanks for stopping by!

Love the card, Virginia! I've just bought the spring distress inks - I'm a season behind but seeing as summer hasn't actually arrived in the UK I feel justified in my purchase. (hope the weather bucks up for your trip).

Not sure about grabbing a glass of lemonade, I'd rather grab a piece of that gorgeous lemon meringue pie! Another string to David's bow (sorry!!)
